There will be a big change in taxes. The government has made a decision

- The government has adopted a draft amendment to the VAT Act, which provides, among other things, for the introduction of a mandatory National e-Invoice System (KSeF).
- The system is intended to simplify document flow, reduce bureaucracy and limit fraud.
- The obligation to use KSeF will be introduced gradually from 2026.
On June 17, the government adopted a draft amendment to the act, which assumes the implementation of the National e-Invoice System and, at the same time, shortening the basic deadline for refunding VAT overpayments for entrepreneurs from 60 to 40 days.
KSeF is intended to be a central, state-owned platform for issuing and receiving electronic invoices.
Under this new system , it will still be possible to issue paper invoices, i.e., "offline," but they will then have to be entered into the system within 24 hours. Overall, the new system is intended to make it easier for the state to catch tax fraudsters, which should benefit the entire economy and other honest entrepreneurs. In the long term, the new regulations could improve the competitiveness of Polish companies in the international market.
The system is also intended to simplify document flow , reduce bureaucracy and lower the costs of running a business, although of course, at the beginning it may also mean:
- the need to adapt procedures in companies,
- learning how to use the system,
- software update,
- implementation of new invoicing tools.
For those companies that do not currently use electronic invoices, this could even be an accounting revolution.
However, all those companies that already use private accounting platforms available online can probably count on the fact that the websites providing these services (including, for example, some banks offering online accounting to their clients) will "connect" to the new system, thanks to which they will be able to continue using them and comply with the new requirements.
The government has decided. There will be a big change in taxes. The requirement to use the KSeF system for companies with 2024 turnover exceeding PLN 200 million will take effect on February 1, 2026. Smaller companies will begin using it on April 1 of next year, while the smallest companies, with monthly turnover of up to PLN 10,000, will have a transitional period until the end of next year. Therefore, no penalties for errors in implementing the new system will be imposed until the end of 2026.
All of this will become a reality, of course, only when the draft legislation on this matter is passed by the Sejm and approved by the president. For now, it's just a government bill.
