Siarhei Tsikhanouski: They didn't break me in prison, I will fight until the end
It's all because I'm a Christian. I'm not afraid of death. Fighting for truth is my most important value. There are people who, to save themselves, prefer to remain silent. I don't understand this; otherwise, why live? I was tall back then, and my voice was deep. Some might have interpreted my courage as brutality or even intrusiveness. But it's enough to talk to me in person to see that I'm a completely different person. I wasn't looking for benefits, I didn't want power. Back then, I wanted to participate in the presidential elections just to show that elections don't exist in Belarus.
