KO MP Marcin Józefaciuk suspended from membership
Józefaciuk’s suspension was announced by the head of the Civic Coalition club, Zbigniew Konwiński.
As the reason for the suspension, Konwiński pointed to Józefaciuk's criticism of the government's actions in the field of education, as well as the introduction of a person convicted of paedophilia to the parliamentary team's deliberations.
Convicted pedophile at the Child Protection Team meeting during the Parental Separation TrialOn August 4 this year, Marcin Józefaciuk brought to the meeting of the Team for the Protection of Children in the Parental Separation Process a person convicted of pedophilia and entered in a special register.
When this came to light, the MP explained in a lengthy post on X that the invitees – both from the government and non-governmental organizations – had to go through the Pass Office, which verifies the individual based on their PESEL number . No other verification – particularly through registers – took place due to the fact that the participants were adults and the topic was child support plates. Furthermore, the Pass Office does not have the authority to block individuals who have served their sentences and enjoy full civil rights.
Józefaciuk explains that he was misled about the extent of the convict's offenses. A group absent from the panel meeting, supported by an invited but absent MP, allegedly attacked both the parliamentary panel and himself online, according to Józefaciuk.
" When I learned of the matter, the individual and the association that delegated him were BANNED from further participation in the work of the team. The presence of individuals convicted of such crimes, even after serving their sentences, will negatively impact the credibility of the team itself and all the involved individuals and organizations who attended its meeting in large numbers, " writes the suspended MP.
He also informed that " due to the information obtained during the Team's investigation, he filed a notification with the prosecutor's office today about the possibility of committing a crime by a person who, having a restraining order, openly stated that he had broken it . "
Józefaciuk criticized the work of the Ministry of National Education. This is the second reason for his suspension. The head of the Civic Coalition (KO) parliamentary group cited Józefaciuk's "criticism of the government's actions in the field of education" as an additional reason for his suspension. The suspended MP posted on X directly criticizing Minister Barbara Nowacka, accusing her of insufficient changes in education.
