8,000 PLN new minimum wage. Pay raises for 700,000 people

- From July 1, 2025, the minimum wage in healthcare has been increased.
- For doctors with specialization, the amount reached PLN 11,863, and for groups such as pharmacists and laboratory diagnosticians, at least PLN 8,345.
- The changes affect approximately 700,000 healthcare workers, making them one of the largest in history.
The average salary in 2024 was PLN 8,182 and serves as the basis for determining minimum wages for full-time hospital and clinic employees . What are the new rates?
From 1 July 2025, the minimum wages for nurses and midwives are:
- with a master's degree and specialization - PLN 10,554.42 (an increase of PLN 1,323.85);
- with a master's degree or specialization - PLN 8,345.35 (an increase of PLN 1,046.76);
- with a bachelor's degree or secondary education - PLN 7,690.82 (an increase of PLN 964.67).
In other medical professions, the minimum wages are as follows:
- doctor or dentist - PLN 11,863.49
- pharmacist, physiotherapist, laboratory diagnostician, clinical psychologist - PLN 10,554.42
- doctor or dentist without specialization - PLN 9,736.25
- intern - PLN 7,772.63
- pharmacist, physiotherapist, laboratory diagnostician, electroradiology technician, psychologist - PLN 8,345.35
- physiotherapist, paramedic, electroradiology technician, medical analysis technician with secondary or first degree education, without specialization - PLN 7,690.82
- other medical worker with secondary education - PLN 7,036.28
- basic employee with higher education - PLN 8,181.72
- basic employee with education below secondary level - PLN 5,318.12
Bonuses, such as those for length of service or night work, will be calculated from basic salaries.
According to data from the Central Statistical Office , over 720,000 people are employed in the Polish health care sector and will benefit from the new minimum rates.
