2,333 PLN per month for the birth of a child. The letter is already on the president's desk.

- Demographics are becoming a serious challenge, and in Poland the share of people aged 65+ in the working-age population is expected to exceed 75 percent.
- The citizens' proposal submitted to the Chancellery of the President assumes, among other things, monthly payments for women depending on the number of children born.
- The accumulated pension contributions could provide the mother with a benefit ranging from PLN 600 for one child to an amount close to the minimum pension for three children.
Demographics are becoming a key challenge for the entire world. Forecasts indicate that the share of people aged 65+ in the working-age population (20–64) will increase from 31% in 2023 to 52% in 2060. In Poland, this trend will be even more pronounced – this percentage is expected to exceed 75%, which, according to the Polish Economic Institute, places us among the countries most affected by the demographic crisis.
Recently, the Chancellery of the President received a citizens' proposal, the implementation of which is intended to improve the demographic situation in Poland and provide support to people who have decided to give birth to and raise children.
600 PLN to the pension for the birth of a child. The letter is already on the president's desk."I have a friend who is 70 years old and together with his wife they raised four children. My wife worked all her life with the children and as a result she has a pension of PLN 0," we read in a letter to the president, quoted by "Fakt".
The author proposed to pay women extra for giving birth to a child:
- after the birth of the first child, financial support should amount to half of the minimum monthly wage and be included in the pension base;
- after the birth of the second child, financial support should amount to the full amount of the minimum wage,
- After the birth of the third child, financial support should amount to 150% of the minimum wage.
Currently, the minimum wage is PLN 4,666 per month . This means that support for a mother would be PLN 2,333 for one child, PLN 4,666 for two children, and PLN 6,999 for three children.
But that's not all: mothers could count on additional pension contributions. If a woman became a mother at age 30 and didn't work until retirement, the accumulated contributions would provide her with a benefit of PLN 600 for one child, PLN 1,200 for two children, and with three children, the amount would approach the minimum pension.
