[UPDATE 12/08] Road traffic during the Great Kalwaria Indulgence 2025 [PHOTOS, VIDEO]

The Franciscans of Kalwaria have announced changes in the organization of the movement during the Great Kalwaria Indulgence.

During the Indulgence on August 11-15, car traffic and pedestrian pilgrimages will generally be possible at all times, in TWO DIRECTIONS.

Entrance to Calvary:

• for passenger cars from Nowosiółki Dydyńskie and Huwniki
• for coaches only from Nowosiółki Dydyńskie

When the Police determine that there is a high traffic density, then ONE-WAY traffic will be introduced: i.e. ACCESS from Nowosiółki Dydyńskie, EXIT towards Huwniki for passenger cars.

Walking pilgrimages are obliged to ensure that their attendants allow cars to overtake them at all times while ascending the mountain.

EXCEPTIONS: Traffic restrictions will be in place every day after the main Holy Masses at 6 p.m. Then, coaches will take the main road towards Nowosiółki Dydyńskie, therefore entry via this road will be blocked by the Police for that time.

Entry will also be suspended for some time:

• August 11 (Monday) during the procession to the chapel of the House of Our Lady at 2:00 p.m. and back to the basilica.
• August 13 (Wednesday) during the Funeral Procession of Our Lady, which will begin at 8:00 a.m.

PARKING LOT for cars, coaches and minibuses is organized around the Sanctuary and in meadows and private properties, but their capacity is limited. We park only in designated parking lots, under no circumstances do we leave cars on the roadside.

PLEASE be patient and kind to each other and follow the instructions of the uniformed services.
