They are looking for a lost sculpture in Rusalka

On Saturday morning, a search began for the historic sculpture "Czaple" in Lake Rusałka in Szczecin. Police officer and historian Dr. Marek Łuczak, who specializes in this type of endeavor, is trying to find the "Caple." He is assisted by divers, among others.
"I'm preparing a new edition of my book 'Pogodno - Łękno.' While researching Łękno, I came across an article in which Anna Paszkiewicz talks about a sculpture she created that disappeared in 1975 or 1976," says Marek Łuczak. "I started digging into this missing piece. The sculpture's author says it weighs 500 kilograms. It wouldn't be possible to move it or vandalize it. But it would be easy to throw it into a lake. Two people could do it."
There's no absolute certainty about what happened to the object. There are speculations. Marek Łuczak suspects the sculpture was pushed into the lake by vandals. It's known that the "Caple" stood near the shore. Two attempts have already been made to find them. It's not easy, as visibility in Rusałka is very limited. If the "Caple" are found, they will be placed in a location designated by the city's monument conservator.
Zofia Brzezińska, who had seen the sculpture years before, watched the search.
"She was at the island. She stood there for a long time. Then she started leaning over and her beak seemed to dig into the ground," the Szczecin woman said. "I came specifically to help."
Mr. Tomasz, a diver who was tapping the bottom with special equipment, explained that the main problem was that the "Caple" could be buried in a layer of mud.
"If the sculpture is here, we'll definitely find it," he said. "If there's a trail, we have to check it out. The conditions are difficult—three meters from the shore, it's two meters deep, plus a meter of mud—but we're trying."
Marek Łuczak asks that anyone in Szczecin who has any information about the missing sculpture contact him on Facebook. ©℗

They also have Rusałka in Poznań, and the city found the funds to clean the reservoir. Here, the city finances the LGBT pride parade; there's no money for such nonsense.

Logically, if someone were to throw the sculpture into the lake, they probably wouldn't have the strength to throw it far, so theoretically it could be near the shore, but since it hasn't been found for so long, all scenarios are possible...
