The National Prosecutor's Office, on platform X, announced that an indictment was filed with the District Court in Szczecin against three former directors of the State Forests, accused of exceeding their authority by allegedly fictitious employment of Dariusz Matecki.

The indictment is the result of long and collaborative work by Investigative Team No. 2 of the State Prosecutor's Office, and concerns Michał C., Józef K., and Andrzej Sz. They are accused of "abusing their authority by – as investigators claim – fictitious employment of Dariusz Matecki at the State Forests Information Center and the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Szczecin." The National Prosecutor's Office also announced that the proceedings in this case against Dariusz Matecki "are continuing."

The investigation into irregularities at the State Forests is linked to the investigation into the Justice Fund. In March of this year, Dariusz Matecki, a Law and Justice MP, was charged by the prosecutor's office with, among other things, "collaborating with State Forests directors in the fictitious and ostensible employment of the suspect (him) between June 2020 and October 2023 at the State Forests Information Center and the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Szczecin, despite the fact that, according to investigators, the work was 'not performed.'"

The MP denies this and claims that he was doing the work.

"I wonder why it took them so long to prepare the indictment, and I mean myself," MP Dariusz Matecki told us. "I was involved in social media at the State Forests, among other things, and at the time I had the largest social media reach, and they tell me that 5,000 or 6,000 złoty a month is a lot... While working at the State Forests, I was involved not only in social media but also in consulting. The charges are laughable when you compare my earnings at the State Forests with those currently earned by various people doing the same thing at state-owned companies. The directors will be happy to speak on this and other matters in court. We eagerly await it. Adam Bodnar was an extremely incompetent minister and prosecutor general. However, he did have one success: he put me in jail."

MP D. Matecki was held in pretrial detention in Radom for two months. He was released after his family paid bail of 500,000 PLN. According to the MP, this was a mining arrest, and he himself was a political prisoner.

"The court, which included judges from Iustitia, decided that I should not be held in custody," he said after being released. ©℗
