The Polish-Swiss Urban Development Program aims to improve the quality of life of residents of medium-sized cities in Poland, which is expected to reduce socio-economic disparities in our country. Hundreds of millions of złoty are available for distribution. Medium-sized cities are eligible to benefit from the program. To be eligible for funding, they must be classified by the National Regional Development Strategy as one of the 139 cities losing their socio-economic functions. Cities will receive both financial and advisory support. The Association of Polish Cities will provide advisory services.

The aforementioned group of "degraded" cities includes Przemyśl and Jarosław. Both local governments have submitted applications for funding.

A few days ago, a ranking list of applications, created on the basis of a substantive assessment conducted by external experts, appeared on the website of the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme (www.programszwajcarski.gov.pl).

The ranking lists, among other things, the requested funding amount. This amount is subject to change depending on the verification of the state aid assessment for the projects. The next step is to submit the list for analysis to the Steering Committee of the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Program, which will make the final decision regarding the ranking list. The list contains 103 positively reviewed and processed applications. 14 applications were rejected.

Inclusion of an application on the list does not guarantee funding. Funding will be awarded only to cities identified by the Steering Committee. The selection of these cities will be based on the number of points obtained and the amount of funding allocated for the recruitment process.

It's known that 19 local governments will receive funding. Based solely on this ranking list, Jarosław has a great chance of receiving a very large sum of money.

It placed 18th on the ranking list, scoring 88.56 points. It participated in the project entitled "Come – See – Stay – Jarosław, a City Open to People" (which aims to improve residents' lives through innovative social and technological solutions – integrating modern technologies, education, and social activities to build a better future). The Jarosław authorities have requested PLN 80,705,495 in funding. The possible funding (according to the ranking list) is PLN 78,323,195.

Przemyśl ranked 31st on the ranking list, scoring 84.27 points for its project titled "Przemyśl: Our Chances for a Better Tomorrow." The Przemyśl authorities requested funding of PLN 75,356,434. The potential funding (according to the ranking list) is PLN 67,894,286.

From our voivodeship, high places on the list are occupied by: Dębica (2nd), Jasło (5th) and Krosno (16th).
