It is already known who wants to build the Mierzyn bypass and for how much.

Bids have been opened in the tender for the construction of the Mierzyn bypass along National Road No. 10. Ten contractors participated in the procedure, with bids ranging from PLN 139.9 million to PLN 227.2 million.
"The submitted bids will now be reviewed to select the most advantageous option. This is a joint investment by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) and the City of Szczecin. The new road will provide adequate access to the Szczecin Western Bypass (ZOS) along the S6 expressway, which is also currently undergoing a tender process," says Mateusz Grzeszczuk from the Szczecin Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
Joint investment of GDDKiA and SzczecinHalf of the new 4.64-kilometer road will run within Szczecin. Therefore, the investment must be jointly carried out by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) and the local government. In 2022, an agreement was signed regarding preparatory work, which led to the development of a construction design. The road documentation was completed last year, allowing the commencement of the process of obtaining a road investment permit (ZRID).
Earlier this year, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) signed an agreement with the City of Szczecin covering the construction phase. It stipulated that each party would bear the costs of the work on its own premises. In March of this year, the West Pomeranian Voivode issued a ZRID decision for the entire route.
"The investment will be implemented using the Build system. Work will begin shortly after the contract is signed with the contractor, which should occur later this year. We plan to complete the investment in 2028," reports Mateusz Grzeszczuk.
The route will bypass dense developmentCurrently, the DK10, which runs from Szczecin towards the Polish-German border, runs through the densely built-up area of Mierzyn. Traffic jams form on the road daily during rush hour. A Szczecin Zachód junction will be built at the junction of the DK10 with the Szczecin Western Bypass, which will be one of the main connections to central Szczecin.
The DK10 road currently running through Mierzyn would not be able to handle the additional traffic, so a new alignment is needed. This will provide proper access to the Szczecin expressway bypass. The road from Szczecin will begin at the intersection at the end of Ku Słońcu Street, near the existing shopping center. This initial section, over 200 meters long, is within the City of Szczecin. The road will then run north to the intersection of Topolowa and Łukasińskiego Streets. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) will be responsible for this approximately 1.2-kilometer section. The road will then re-enter Szczecin and run west, partially passing through allotment gardens. After approximately 2.1 kilometers, the route will leave the city limits. After approximately 1.3 kilometers, the new DK10 will reach the Szczecin Zachód (Dołuje) junction. The GDDKiA is also responsible for this last section.
