Another courier scam

A woman who fell victim to online fraud reportedly lost her savings to the police.

Officers received a report on July 21st. A resident of our district told them she had been robbed while trying to sell a sports treadmill through a popular classifieds website.

The transaction didn't raise any suspicions. After a brief exchange of messages with the interested buyer, the woman was offered the option of having the buyer arrange shipping. She was asked to provide her email address and bank account number.

Shortly thereafter, a link, purportedly from a courier company, landed in her inbox. The 41-year-old, unsuspecting, clicked the link. The website looked legitimate, so she entered her payment card details, including the CVC code, without hesitation.

Shortly after, she received a call from a man posing as a bank employee. He informed her that there were problems with her card and asked her to use a different one. Unsuspecting, she provided the second card's details. Only after ending the call and checking her account balance did she realize she had been the victim of fraud. Nearly 19,000 złoty had disappeared from her account.

Your opinion is important, but it cannot hurt other people or groups.
