A family from Tanowo needs help. A fire has robbed them of their life's possessions.

A fire broke out in a single-family home in Tanowo (Police commune) last Tuesday morning (July 23rd). Four people, including two children, were inside the building at the time. A knock on the window woke the family. Two nearby residents reported a fire...
"There was a fire in the attic," says Robert Kaczorowski, who lives downstairs with his wife and children. "We jumped up, and my wife and children evacuated immediately. I tried to break down the door to get into the attic, because that's where my in-laws and their son live. At that time, I received word that no one was upstairs (they were at work - ed.), so I evacuated as well."
When firefighters arrived at the scene, all household members were already safe.
- The fire brigade arrived very quickly - emphasizes Mr. Robert, who was the only injured person (he suffered a leg injury while trying to force open the door separating the ground floor of the house from the attic).
"Flames engulfed the wooden structure and flammable furnishings in the occupied attic," the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Police reported after the rescue. "The family inside the house had left the building before firefighters arrived. Six fire crews, including those from the Police Fire Department, the Tanowo Volunteer Fire Department, the Tatynia Volunteer Fire Department, and the Police Volunteer Fire Department, extinguished the fire. Police and a medical rescue team were also on the scene. One person was injured. The rescue operation lasted over seven hours."
The fire caused significant damage, although its actual extent is still being assessed.
"My in-laws lost everything," Mr. Robert told us on Wednesday morning. "I don't know if the house is habitable right now. My things, my wife's, and my children's things are in the closets; we'll be taking them out soon. But everything downstairs was flooded."
This multigenerational family needs support now. And they're getting it.
"A lot of people have offered help, and we're managing somehow," says Robert. "For now, we have meals provided and a place to stay. My wife, children, and I are staying with my brother, and my in-laws and their son are staying in a hotel. My employer, the Świt Sports Club, among others, helped (they arranged emergency hotel accommodations - ed.). I'm also in contact with the municipality, which has announced it will provide temporary housing."
The cause of the fire is unknown. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
Meanwhile, help is being organized for the fire victims, including financial aid. Anyone who would like to support the family can do so by donating any amount to the fundraiser: https://pomagam.pl/by7ybc
"This place was our shared refuge, full of memories and everyday life," writes Jakub Radzik, who lived with his parents in the attic, the part of the house that burned down, on the fundraising page. "We can't fathom that we no longer have anything to return to. All our clothes, documents, furniture, and everyday items were completely burned. We were left with only what we were wearing. It's an unimaginable burden, but we know we don't want to give up." ©℗

Under the heavy roof tiles, as if under a lid, the temperature rose to 700 degrees Celsius. Thick tiles, yet they cracked to smithereens. That recent, infamous fire over Warsaw? I wondered how it was possible for an entire large roof complex to burn so quickly! Probably after the high temperature and air intake, everything would burn like napalm! Now I'm not surprised that literally everything burned. The books stacked tightly in the bookshelf had lost their corners and formed a charred, oval cylinder!

How much will this policy cover? Ask your insurance company how much they offer in the event of such a disaster! As a friend, I went to help clear the fire. I was terrified by the fire's power and destructiveness. The fire department was there almost immediately, and practically everything upstairs burned. I never imagined such destruction could occur in such a short time! We're practically picking out mud, a mixture of mineral wool and cracked roof tiles. There are metal pieces left from the sofas and armchairs! I'm going back tomorrow to help!

After all, the insurance company will pay compensation for the fire.
