Bronze for judoka Van Krevel at the European Championships in Montenegro

Naomi van Krevel won a bronze medal in the 52 kilogram class at the European Judo Championships. In the repechages, the 24-year-old judoka from Spijkenisse defeated Hungarian Reka Pupp (ippon) and Israeli Gefen Primo, who was put aside with an ippon in the extension (golden score).
After a bye in the first round, Van Krevel defeated the German Chiara Serra one round later, but in the quarterfinals Distria Krasniqi was too strong for the Dutch with an ippon. The Kosovar won silver at the Olympic Games last year.
In the class up to 48 kilograms Amber Gersjes lost in the battle for bronze to the Italian Assunta Scutto. She therefore finished fifth.
