Professional League: Gustavo Costas's argument cost him dearly, with a fine and mandatory training.

The Racing coach was sanctioned for his actions following the controversial final against Barracas Central. Despite the expulsion, he will be able to manage against Belgrano, but he must pay a fine and commit to disciplinary action.
Gustavo Costas will be eligible to sit on Racing's bench next Sunday against Belgrano , after the Disciplinary Tribunal ruled that his expulsion against Barracas Central could be commuted to a fine. The coach was given a one-match suspension, but will avoid serving it by paying a sum of 483,000 pesos.
The penalty comes after a heated incident in the Academia's 1-0 defeat on the opening day of the Clausura Tournament, where Costas reacted furiously to referee Nicolás Lamolina . The coach entered the field after the final whistle to reprimand him for the penalty awarded to Barracas and the goal disallowed to Racing in the final minutes. According to the referee's report, there was even a slight push toward the referee.
Beyond the payment, the punishment included an unusual measure: the coach must complete training related to emotional management, sports ethics, or professional behavior within 90 days. Failure to comply could be considered an aggravating factor in future disciplinary decisions.

The sanction also extended to his sons and direct collaborators: Gonzalo , field assistant, and Federico, physical trainer , who will receive an equivalent fine or, failing that, must serve a suspension period.
Lamolina, for his part, defended his decisions in an interview with ESPN. “The penalty was reckless . Bruera poked the ball and Martínez hit it. The play was clear,” he said. He also emphasized that the timing of the match (after 90 minutes and following a controversial situation in the opponent's box) heightened the tension: “It was a very difficult situation, but we're comfortable with what we got.”
Before the ruling, Costas issued a public apology on social media. “My behavior was not appropriate. Throughout my career, I have always prioritized respect, even in moments of frustration. I have never been expelled in this period, and I regret that this happened,” he said. He also reaffirmed his commitment to the club and called for unity: “We must be closer than ever if we want to achieve our dreams.”
Racing , with its coach authorized, will travel to Córdoba to face Belgrano on Sunday, July 20 at 7 p.m. Barracas, meanwhile, will host Independiente Rivadavia that same day at 2:30 p.m.
