Pachuca officially announces the departure of Jaime Lozano

Jaime Lozano 's time as manager of Pachuca has come to an end. After six months on the bench, the Tuzos' board announced the dismissal of the coach , who failed to deliver the expected results in the 2025 Apertura tournament. With his departure, the club from Hidalgo will have to appoint a new manager before the Play-in stage, where they will face Pumas.
The decision came just hours after Pachuca's defeat in Torreón against Santos Laguna, a result that left them in ninth place in the overall standings. The team had a chance to finish the regular season in seventh place , but the loss forced them into the Play-in tournament, where they will need two consecutive wins to advance to the quarterfinals.
During Lozano's tenure, Pachuca played all 17 regular season matches, finishing with six wins, four draws, and seven losses . Despite a promising start with four consecutive victories, the team's performance declined: they failed to win any of their last five matches, losing three of them, which precipitated the club's decision.
History repeats itself for Jaime Lozano, who still hasn't reached the Liguilla (playoffs) as a Liga MX manager. Before his stint at Pachuca, he managed Querétaro and Necaxa , though he failed to advance to the final stage with either team.
With Querétaro , during three tournaments (Apertura 2016, Clausura 2017, and Apertura 2017), he failed to lead the Gallos Blancos to a top-eight finish. Later, at the helm of Necaxa in the Clausura and Apertura 2022 tournaments, he reached the playoffs both times, but was eliminated by Cruz Azul and Tigres, respectively.
