He lost his victory in Pamplona due to a failure with the steel.

Had it been any other bullring than Pamplona, Pablo Aguado's performance would be talked up. Perhaps his sword had been the culmination of two feats of excellence.

The Sevillian bullfighter left his mark as a highly regarded bullfighter in yesterday's bullfight, one of the highlights of the San Fermín Fair, but his failures with the sword on both of his foes left him without any prizes.

The festive public, with noise, was once again present in the stands of the Monumental bullring, and in the bullfights attempted by Juan Ortega, they were doing their thing, and not focusing on what was happening in the ring.

Andrés Roca Rey, the winner of last season and the only bullfighter with two afternoons in this edition, had no material to spare, and the Peruvian left in silence.

And Aguado was dazzled by his two bulls, from Jandilla, a ranch that produced very prominent specimens.

His first bull, his third in the fight, was called "Histórico," and the Andalusian was such an artist that he cared little whether he was seen or paid attention to. He performed brilliantly, with his well-known class, taking advantage of the bull's condition, and his performance was superb. It's a shame the steel wasn't accurate, because he could have established himself in Pamplona as one of the greatest winners of recent years.

Even with the bull that closed the bullring, she was able to touch the hair, performing in her own style, but the Toledo native once again fell short in the final act. Good bullfighting, which perhaps many didn't even notice.
