Fire at La Bombonera: the reason for the fire in one of the popular stands of Boca's stadium

The celebrations were in full swing on Sunday afternoon at Boca 's stadium. The Xeneize defeated River in the Superclásico and qualified for the Copa Libertadores. However, on Monday, with the Bombonera quieter after a memorable afternoon, the club from La Ribera experienced a tremendous scare when one of the stands caught fire.

Once the crowd had dispersed, the Boca Juniors staff hadn't had time to clean the stands, and what remained on the steps caught fire . The incident occurred in the south end of the stadium. It all happened in the middle tier, behind the goal where Merentiel scored Boca's second goal against River Plate.

Volunteer firefighters from La Boca, along with the Buenos Aires City Fire Department, immediately responded. Fortunately, the situation did not escalate, and the fire was brought under control without any injuries or structural damage to the Alberto J. Armando school .

The incident was reported by Néstor Nicolás, Undersecretary of Emergencies for the City Government, on his X account (formerly Twitter). "Fire at Boca Juniors Stadium. Brandsen 800.
