América maintains its perfect run in the 2025 Apertura tournament of the Liga MX Femenil, after beating Puebla 3-0 yesterday in a match played at the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium, which was delayed half an hour due to a thunderstorm.
When time allowed, Spaniard Bruna Vilamala opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a header in the six-yard box that proved unstoppable for goalkeeper Silvia Machuca. The Coapa team's fierce attacks continued, and minutes later, the former Barcelona player scored her double by taking advantage of a mistake by Machuca (12), who gave her the ball in her attempt to clear.
In the second half, the story of the match did not change, and near the end, Montserrat Saldívar dragged the ball down the right flank to smash a powerful low shot into the opponent's goal.
With this result, América remains at the top of the competition with 18 points, having recorded six wins in six games played and an astonishing 24-1 goal difference. Tigres sits in second place with 16 points, followed by Toluca, with the same number of points.
On the following matchday, the Águilas will face Pumas, while Puebla will visit Mazatlán.
