Daviplata transforms and launches credit and debit cards

Maintaining its innovative DNA, Daviplata has revamped its image and introduced a new product offering to the market, including credit and debit cards. This evolution welcomes young people with special benefits, as well as businesses, entrepreneurs, and foreign residents in the country.

“With this launch, Daviplata reaffirms its innovative leadership as the neobank that transforms with purpose. We put a platform in the hands of our customers to manage their daily finances at zero cost and open the doors of the world to all Colombians so they can make their purchases,” said Javier Suárez, president of Davivienda. Margarita Henao, CEO of Daviplata, said that the 100% digital credit card was launched, with a zero-peso management fee, one-month interest-free payments, credit limits starting at $500,000, based on the user's financial history and management, and with an initial invitation to 1.6 million Colombians to receive the first Daviplata credit cards.
With this new digital debit card, free of issuance, management, or usage fees, 19 million users will be able to use their Daviplata balance to pay for national and international e-commerce transactions, access platforms such as Amazon, Mercado Libre, and Aliexpress, and easily subscribe to Netflix, Spotify, Uber, and Rappi.

Starting in November, thanks to NFC (contactless) technology, you can make physical purchases in Colombia and anywhere in the world—Miami, Madrid, or Tokyo—through G Pay and soon Apple Pay. The launch of the two new Daviplata cards is in collaboration with Mastercard. Foreign residents in the country can now open Daviplata with their Foreigner's Identification Card (Cédula de Extranjería) or Temporary Residence Permit (PPT) and manage their money and that of their businesses completely digitally. Daviplata strengthens its ecosystem with more solutions for small businesses and startups:
- Free QR and Key sales , with immediate payment from any financial institution. For added security, we've launched the QR code receipt confirmation to validate the authenticity of Key transfers.
- In addition to receiving 8.25% EA in Daviplata Pockets, businesses participate in biweekly drawings for $1,000,000.
- Direct payments to consumer goods companies from the Daviplata app.
- Collections and deposits at more than 41,000 banking correspondents nationwide (Éxito, Carulla, Efecty, PuntoRed, Farmatodo, and Punto Pago). Henao said that DaviPlata is taking its promise of "being in everyday life" to the next level, offering an experience that combines entertainment and finance with the new free digital debit card. Henao added that customers can now enjoy benefits such as Pocket Payments with an 8.25% EA on their balance, with no time restrictions or minimum amounts, and immediate Bre-B payments, as DaviPlata holds 28% of the key shares for low-value deposits. This has established itself as one of the leading entities in the evolution of immediate payment systems in Colombia, mobilizing more than $50 billion in Bre-B payments daily. Additionally, with DaviPlata and the NFC digital debit card, customers can access mass transit systems in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Armenia, and Manizales. Customers can also pay traffic fines at 400 parking lots nationwide, purchase intercity tickets, and load the country's main toll platforms.
Margarita Henao said that DaviPlata celebrates being the first financial product in Latin America certified as Carbon Neutral by Icontec, generating 96% fewer CO₂ emissions compared to cash transactions , reaffirming its commitment to the planet and to new generations.
