The former president of Adif arrives at the National Court to testify in the Koldo case.

Former Adif president Isabel Pardo de Vera is already in the National Court to testify in the Koldo case as a suspect for allegedly facilitating the irregular awarding of public works contracts to certain construction companies in exchange for bribes.
The former Secretary of State for Transport arrived at the Court around 10:20 a.m., ahead of her appointment with Judge Ismael Moreno, who will question her starting at 11:00 a.m.
Accompanied by her lawyer, Pardo de Vera entered the courthouse amid great media anticipation and eager to testify before the judge, who will also take testimony this Monday from former Director General of Highways Javier Herrero.
Both have been summoned before Judge Ismael Moreno after he ordered searches of their homes on June 26th following the opening of a separate investigation into five possible offenses: membership in a criminal organization, bribery, influence peddling, malfeasance, and embezzlement.
Pardo de Vera had already been previously charged by this same magistrate for influence peddling and embezzlement in relation to the hiring in two public companies (Ineco and Tragsatec) of Jéssica Rodríguez, ex-partner of former minister José Luis Ábalos.
In relation to public works, the judge is investigating whether Pardo de Vera and Herrero assisted Ábalos, through his then advisor, Koldo García, so that the contracts they planned "could be successfully completed."
The judge also suspects Cerdán and Koldo's "interest" in promoting Pardo de Vera to the Ministry of State for Transport. According to the investigation, he allegedly "repeatedly" favored the construction companies Acciona, Levantina Ingeniería y Construcción (LIC), and OPR. The promotion occurred, but it didn't materialize until Ábalos left the Ministry of Transport in 2021.
