Prince Andrew of England renounces all his royal titles

He has been accused of being linked to the scandals surrounding American tycoon and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew, Duke of York, brother of King Charles III of England, announced Friday that he will renounce all his royal titles and honors to prevent the allegations against him from "distracting" from the work of the British royal family, according to a statement issued by Buckingham Palace.
"Following discussions with the King and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded that the continued allegations against me are distracting from the work of Her Majesty and the Royal Family ," Andrew said in a brief statement.
When he says "allegations," the former Duke of York is referring to a long list of scandals in which he has been involved in recent years due to his relationship with the American tycoon and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein , as well as with an alleged Chinese spy.
In this regard, Andrés said he "strongly" denied all accusations against him and affirmed that his decision prioritized his "duty" to his family and his country, just as he did five years ago when he retired from public life.
"With Her Majesty's consent, I consider it necessary to take a further step. Therefore, I will no longer use my title or the honors bestowed upon me," he added.
Among the titles he would renounce are that of Duke of York, as well as that of Member of the Order of the Garter , but he will retain the title of Prince, since it is something he obtained at birth as the third son of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson , will also no longer use the title of Duchess of York, but his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, will retain the title of princess, according to British media.
