Cristina confirmed that she will go to Comodoro Py on Wednesday: the CGT will give her symbolic support, but will not mobilize heavily.

"Cristina always said she stood by the law. Well, now she can go straight to Comodoro Py," union leader Luis Barrionuevo tells Clarín with a smile. His comment reveals the fragmentation that the confirmation of Cristina Kirchner's conviction has stirred within the CGT .
Several Kirchnerist unions are demanding that the union call a general strike to condemn the Court's ruling and the former president's political "banning." But that 's not the position of the CGT's small group , which is comprised of the most powerful and numerous unions.
The PJ (Party of the People's Party ) has called on the CGT (General Confederation of Workers' Unions) to gather next Tuesday . There, they will demand that the Peronist union join the march—they want a massive one—that will accompany Cristina on Wednesday when she appears in Comodoro Py to be officially notified of the ruling against her.
It is expected that the members of its leadership—the triumvirate Héctor Daer , Octavio Argüello , and Carlos Acuña —will attend, along with a handful of other leaders. The restaurateur told Acuña, who is aligned with Luis Barrionuevo in the union's internal affairs, not to join the PJ. The degree of verticality between the two will be seen on Tuesday.
At the small CGT table, the prevailing idea is to attend the march on Wednesday, but to do so according to the rules .
Pablo Moyano visited Cristina Kirchner.
"We're doing something merely symbolic, giving each union member freedom of action. We don't join or agree with Máximo Kirchner and the Grabois," a CGT leader told Clarín .
Another union member expressed a similar sentiment: "We would do something just to comply; those who will have to mobilize are the Kirchnerist unions."
Wednesday's march is not yet confirmed. It would only happen if Cristina goes to Comodoro Py. In a post this Friday, the former president confirmed what Clarín had anticipated : "Next Wednesday I will show up in Comodoro Py to be on the right, as I have always done."
In the post, he also called the three judges of the highest court a "puppet triumvirate that serves as a fictional Supreme Court of Justice."
But the decision on where Cristina will be notified rests with the courts. This Friday , Jorge Gorini , the judge overseeing the execution of the sentence, suspended the leave of absence that had been requested last week and will finally be there to decide on the detention of the former president and the rest of those convicted in the Highways case.
Gorini has not yet decided how the PJ leader will be notified . The judge could decide to go to the apartment at San José 1111 where Cristina requested to serve her sentence. The court has already inspected the home and announced this Friday that it is suitable for house arrest.

In the menu of options , the judge also has that the procedure be carried out at the Headquarters of the Federal Police Mounted Unit, behind the PAseo Alcorta shopping center, in the Centinela Building of the Gendarmerie or the Coast Guard of the Prefecture, as offered by the Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich .
What the judge would seek to prevent is incidents from occurring, so that factor will be key in his decision.
A union leader identified with Kirchnerism predicted that the march will only take place if Cristina has to go elsewhere to receive notification and the process isn't taking place in the department where she resides. He estimated the march could draw around 100,000 people . "The mayors are going to move," he asserted.
But among the unions, the only ones expected to mobilize strongly are those identified with Kirchnerism, such as La Bancaria, the UOM, SMATA, and the SUTERH, the building managers.
Within the banking union and SUTERH, there is a uniform position of support for Cristina. But in unions like the UOM and SMATA, this doesn't seem to be the case.
Ford mechanics blocked the Panamericana highway on Tuesday when the ruling was announced, but Toyota and Volkswagen workers did not join in. The metalworkers' boss is Abel Furlán , who has good relations with the K-12 community. But there are other heavyweights within the UOM who are said to have different positions, such as Antonio Caló and Naldo Brunelli.
Although it's not yet clear, and even among the members of the small group, there are differing positions, it's possible that Wednesday's eventual mobilization will feature a CGT banner, followed by columns of unions. The thinnest columns will be those of the larger unions.
The prevailing version is that there was a rush to release the statement and that it was circulated before it was approved by some CGT leaders who were in Geneva, Switzerland, participating in the annual ILO summit. The upcoming election of the union's leadership appears to have influenced the issue.
In sectors of the CGT, anger with Cristina and La Cámpora is rife because they have always felt mistreated. "The ones who need to mobilize are the unions with representatives," said a long-time CGT leader, referring to La Bancaria ( Sergio Palazzo ), SMATA ( Mario Manrique ), Hugo Yasky (CTA), and Vanesa Siley (Buenos Aires Judicial Union).
The CGT as an organization has been demanding places on the Peronist lists for years and has always suffered the disdain of Cristina and Máximo Kirchner.
Axel Kicillof.
In K unions, on the other hand, they point out that Axel Kicillof's behavior so far regarding Cristina's sentence "is very lukewarm."
"A stronger gesture is expected from him," said a Kirchnerist leader.
-Like which one?, Clarín asked him.
-At least lead Wednesday's march. Maybe unify the provincial elections again; something.
Kicillof is expected to meet with Sergio Massa over the weekend. Both have connections to the CGT. They could try to convince her to join the march in support of Cristina .
