Public transportation increases in CABA: how much will a bus, train, and subway ticket cost?

The Buenos Aires City Government announced a fare increase for public transportation starting this Thursday, May 1st. This increase will be reflected in inflation for April, a period in which food and dairy products lead the increases. According to reports, the increase for bus, subway, and toll tickets will be 5.7%.
This means that starting next Thursday, bus fares will go from $426.21 to $450.63; subway fares will go from $869 to $919; and rush-hour tolls will go from $3,528.70 to $3,729.84 on Perito Moreno and 25 de Mayo Avenues and from $1,467.01 to $1,550.63 on Illia Avenue. Meanwhile, the eco-bike pass will go from $200 to $260 for a single pass.
In the case of the subway, frequent passenger benefits will continue with discounts of 20, 30, and 40% after exceeding 20, 30, and 40 trips, respectively, and SUBE Network discounts. Benefits such as special passes and fares, which are now integrated into the SUBE card, will also continue, such as the pass for retirees and pensioners, for people with disabilities, transplant recipients, student tickets, social fares, student fares, and maestro fares.
The Government will maintain the subsidy to the 5.3 million beneficiaries of the Federal Social Rate through payment with the SUBE system, which implies more than $25,000 million monthly. In this way, they will maintain state aid so that public transport fare prices do not continue to increase after the implementation of a monthly indexation system above inflation.
For its part, the 103 lines under the control of the National Government will not have their fares increased and will remain unchanged , as has been the case since August 2024. Thus, there will be a price difference between bus and train fares between the City of Buenos Aires, the province of Buenos Aires, and the national transport services.
Attention bus riders! Starting May 1st, fares will increase by almost 6%. In Buenos Aires, the increase will be 5.7%, and in the provinces, 5.9%. New fares: from $450 in the Greater Buenos Aires area and from $451 in the city.
