They held a collection to help the family of Lucía Villouta, whose brother Alan was killed in the car accident.

The 23-year-old woman was also hit on the same access road—8 kilometers from the scene of her brother's tragedy—on Monday, May 26, while riding her motorcycle . Like the driver who hit Alan, the one who crashed and caused Lucía to fall also fled the scene without assisting the young woman.

As a result of the accident , the young woman suffered a cervical fracture and is currently undergoing treatment . Doctors have recommended that she remain in a neck brace for at least 45 days. She also suffered a fracture in her hip.

After a few hours, the family told Los Andes that they had managed to raise the necessary funds to cover the treatment costs. In that regard, the family wholeheartedly thanked those who contributed.

The Villouta family 's life story is not easy, in fact it has been quite the opposite. Since that August 27, 2017, when their son Alan (aged 21) died after being hit by a driver traveling at high speed along the Acceso Sur (and who then fled), sad events have been a constant in their lives, unfortunately . And the most recent of these sad episodes took place on Monday afternoon , also on the Acceso Sur . One of Alan's sisters - Lucía (23) - was hit by a truck while riding her motorcycle . And the person responsible also escaped.

The accident involving Lucía Villouta and the fugitive truck driver took place on Monday , around 3:40 p.m. , on the Acceso Sur highway near Boedo (Luján de Cuyo) . It was about 8 kilometers from the site where Alan was killed when he was run over by driver Alejandro Verdenelli , who also fled, just under 8 years ago.

Although Lucía did not suffer any serious or serious injuries, she had to be immediately transferred to the Santa Isabel de Hungría Hospital (Guaymallén). She remained there until this morning.

" My daughter was saved because she had the foresight to let go of the motorcycle's handlebars and jump to the side . Otherwise, it would have been a different story. Because the truck dragged the motorcycle 50 meters and disappeared," Andrés Villouta , Lucía and Alan's father, told Los Andes a few days ago.

"She had been eating at home with us at noon and at 3:30 p.m. she left. At 3:50 p.m. they called me to tell me that she had had an accident . It was the people who assisted her who called me at Lucy 's request," Andrés recalled.

According to Villouta's account of her daughter's reconstruction and witnesses' accounts, Lucía was riding her motorcycle along the South Access Road . When she reached Boedo , she tried to move out of the way to overtake a truck that had two trailers with rowboats attached, and it was at that moment that the driver threw the truck on top of her to prevent her from passing , hitting the motorcycle with its rear end.

"The motorcycle caught the wheels and dragged her 50 meters . I'd say Lucía realized it and jumped out , otherwise I wouldn't have told the tale ," Villouta added, dismayed. "I have to thank God my daughter is alive and that I can be having a coffee at home today," Andrés explained.

They ask for information about the truck driver

The driver of the vehicle that hit Andrés's daughter's motorcycle on Monday fled the scene, unconcerned about the motorcyclist's condition . He accelerated and continued on his way along the South Access Road.

It was some people passing by who first assisted Lucía Villouta .

"We're tired of nothing being done . For eight years we've been asking for a footbridge for pedestrians to cross, for cameras to be installed at the entrance , for lights to be installed. But not a penny is invested in anything , no one wants to invest in road safety , no one is interested in anything and they look the other way," lamented Lucía and Alan Villouta's father a few days ago.
