The postponement of the Cruïlla matchday causes cancellations and complaints

The postponement of the opening of doors until 9:30 p.m. announced by Cruïlla due to the Civil Protection alert for torrential rain has forced the festival to adjust its programming and cancel some of its previously announced performances.

The organizers have ruled out refunding tickets once the alert has been lifted—the weather forecast was already expected to be safe at 9 p.m.—and have extended the closing time to 5 a.m.

Hermanos Gutiérrez, Maika Makovski, Filipin Yess, Roko Banana and the comedy and dance shows have been suspended.

"We will constantly monitor weather developments and alerts, and will keep you informed of any developments through our channels," stated the festival's statement released mid-afternoon.

Love of Lesbian & Friends, the festival's 15th anniversary concert, has been rescheduled from the originally scheduled 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Alanis Morissette will also perform on the main stage at 11 p.m., as planned.

Although the organizers had initially canceled the Kaiser Chiefs performance, it has finally been rescheduled for 4:30 a.m. However, the concerts by Hermanos Gutiérrez, Maika Makovski, Filipin Yess, Roko Banana, and the comedy and dance shows have been permanently canceled.

Other festivals

Meanwhile, the Porta Ferrada Festival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols has canceled its opening performance, which was scheduled to be performed by the Swedish rock group Europe, "in compliance with the risk alerts issued by the authorities." The Peralada Festival has also canceled the performance of Handel's oratorio Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno by the Les Arts Florissants group, conducted by William Christie, "prioritizing the safety of the audience, artists, and crew."

The Grec Festival in Barcelona canceled the performance of Ihsane, by choreographer Sisi Larbi Cherkaoui, and suspended the afternoon performance of the children's show Gènesi at the Teatre Lliure "because the actresses couldn't arrive on time." Arrels, from Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, which featured La Fúmiga as the headliner, also couldn't take place. Ticket refunds were announced for these performances.
