Abel Pintos spoke about the eviction of a family from the land he bought in Lavalle.

Among those present at the event were passersby from Mendoza, tourists, students from various schools, and even employees of the Government House , who were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the ceremony just meters from their workplace.

In this context, the singer made brief statements about the controversy surrounding the land he acquired in Lavalle at the end of 2024, where a family living on a 1,500-square-meter lot within the property was evicted.

"I deeply regret everything that happened and I stand in solidarity with them." He also stated that "dialogue is completely open." He added, "We are faced with this situation. We are here to contribute, not subtract."

The singer arrived in the province because this Friday, June 6, he will perform at the Arena Maipú Stadium as part of his national tour "Cordillera y Mar."

Pintos also took advantage of his time in the province and on Thursday he and his partner toured the farm he acquired in Lavalle , where he plans to produce pistachios and olive oil on an area of almost 100 hectares in the department of Lavalle .

The proposal of the evicted

A few days ago, and now off the 1,500-square-meter lot that Alberto "Tito" Angulo and his wife, Yésica Ferreira, purchased in San Francisco —and from which they were evicted by the Mendoza courts , as it was located within a field purchased by Abel Pintos and a partner—the Mendoza couple remains hopeful . Because, as they say, the last thing you lose is the house.

With the imminent arrival of Abel Pintos to Mendoza , the family evicted from the singer's land - Angulo and Ferreira acquired their lot without knowing that the Buenos Aires partners were moving forward with the purchase with other responsible parties - daydreams about the possibility of being able to meet with the artist .

"It's our wish that we can have some form of contact with him . Perhaps he could help us with something, and that would be very good," Angulo highlights to Los Andes . "Knowing what he's like as a person , if he were to see us, we believe it would be to offer us help . And it would be a great goal for us , because we have been left with nothing , without the lot that we bought with all our savings and without materials ," adds the man, who works in construction and lives with his wife and four children - ages 15, 13 (this child has a disability ), 10 and 5.

In response to this proposal, Abel Pintos's entourage considered the family's request to Los Andes to be "a kind of media extortion."

Evicted

On Wednesday , May 28 , the Angulo Ferreira family was evicted from the land where they lived in San Francisco (Lavalle) and which they had acquired in February 2024 after investing all their savings . The 1,500 meters of the lot where the family lived are included within the 93 hectares that the singer Abel Pintos and his partner, Marcelo González , acquired for the development of a productive and educational project . After the Public Prosecutor's Office charged the couple with usurpation of property in March , the family was evicted on May 28 .

Since that Wednesday night, the family has been living on a plot of land in Jocolí Viejo (also Lavalle ) lent to them by a friend . This man has even offered to buy the plot so the family can once again build their humble home on this site. The problem is that the family has no money , and they are asking for help from anyone who can. They need to raise 5 million pesos to acquire it, as well as materials to rebuild some structure to protect them.

Alberto Angulo and his family, on the one hand, and Abel Pintos and his partner - on the other - were involved in an unexpected legal dispute that lasted for more than a year and intensified in recent months in the Mendoza Courts .

Abel Pintos in Mendoza on his land in Lavalle

Abel Pintos arrived in Mendoza and was on his land in Lavalle.

Both parties acquired land in the town of San Francisco . The issue is that, while Angulo acquired it from a private party who held the possessory rights to the site, Abel Pintos and his partner purchased the land from the bank that held the land registry rights .

With this conflict as the origin of this second dispute, following a complaint filed by Pintos and González 's lawyers and after gathering the available documentation and evidence, prosecutor Juan Carlos Alessandra charged the couple, Alberto Angulo and Yésica Ferreira, with trespassing . And, after holding hearings at the Judicial Center , they were finally evicted from the land last week.

The entire land involved in this private dispute encompasses 93 hectares of land. Following the bankruptcy of a private company, HSBC , a creditor of the firm, took possession of the land several years ago. At the end of 2022 , talks began between bank representatives and Marcelo González , a partner at Abel Pintos .

At that time, talks began with the intention of acquiring the land to establish a nut and olive business , replicating a model the partners already have in place in other parts of the country. At the time, no one lived on the land.

As 2022 drew to a close, a purchase agreement was signed between the bank and González , and at the same time, progress was made on analyzing the land situation . The land was not deeded to González on June 13, 2024 , once the transaction was finalized. However, as of December 13, 2023, there is already evidence of a preliminary survey plan of the property, in the name of Marcelo González .

What led to the conflict that has been the talk of the town in recent weeks —which has been followed in Los Andes and is now echoing in the national media—focuses on a parallel movement that arose between the time the purchase agreement was reached and the moment the purchase was finally finalized and registered in the names of Pintos and González . In the meantime, Alberto "Tito" Angulo and his wife acquired a 1,500-square-meter lot within the property.

According to Angulo , in June 2023 he received compensation for a work-related accident . He used that money to purchase a lot he had found for sale on Facebook, and on February 28, 2024, he took possession of the land .

The detail is that Angulo and his wife finalized the purchase with another man named Morales , who was offering it for sale.

"The possessory rights were transferred by Mr. Ricardo Rafael Morales , to whom the family paid all their savings, including compensation for a work-related accident," the family's lawyer , Flavia Actis , explained to Los Andes a few weeks ago.

While González and Pintos were making progress in purchasing the 93 hectares from the bank , the family —separately and unaware of the situation—agreed on the transaction involving 1,500 square meters of those 93 hectares with Morales . The latter had worked for the firm that owned the property until it went bankrupt , and, according to the family's lawyer, the man remained living there without anyone ever claiming any right of possession .
