Survivors and families of Nova Festival victims deal with the aftermath of the Hamas attack.

Hamas, considered a terrorist group by various nations around the world, carried out the October 7, 2023, attack against the Israeli people, costing more than 1,200 lives and holding 59 hostages in Gaza to this day.
Among the list of victims are the names of 364 people who were gunned down while enjoying a concert during the Nova Festival in southern Israel.
Most were Israeli civilians attending the party. Some were brutally kidnapped as they tried to flee the territory to save their lives and seek support for the other attendees.

With the support of the organization Fuente Latina, Publimetro had the opportunity to speak closely with relatives and witnesses of the attack, such as Alejandra López , a young Colombian survivor of the electronic music festival, who detailed the heartbreaking way in which she witnessed the regrettable events of that morning, assuring that she did not think that the proximity to Gaza of the place where they were celebrating the event would put her life and the lives of the other young people in danger.
Alejandra claims she survived after calling her son's father. Upon seeing the news broadcast on television, the man started his car and sped off to the area where the victim hid with a friend for hours.
The Colombian woman reported that two other people were with her during the concert, her best friend and another close friend, who sadly lost their lives during the attack. Furthermore, the support of a soldier who was on the scene was key in pinpointing the exact location of the rescue.
“I saw many bodies of the people I had danced with hours earlier. They took me to an ambulance, and when I returned home, I learned that my best friend had been murdered, along with another friend. I thought I'd see her again; they burned her alive. A part of me was gone; it's a post-trauma that I experience every day. My faith in humanity was shattered,” she declared.

On the other hand, Rebecca Gonzalez, whose husband Elkaná Bohbot, who was working in the production area during the Nova party , told the media about her grief, stating that more than 570 days after the attack, she has seen her partner's current condition through some videos released by Hamas operatives, who have deprived him of his freedom since that day.
Rebecca asserted that Israel is a people who, over time, have learned to defend themselves despite the constant indifference they show toward other nations. However, she wonders where the Israeli army was on the morning of October 7.
"Israel can't pretend it's going to destroy Hamas; it has to worry about bringing back the hostages and ending a war. What else does the army expect?" he reported.

Finally, Rebecca sent a heartfelt message to Elkaná, giving strength to her constant fight for her release and her need to make it known that the only way to get her words across is through the media.
“There isn't a day that goes by that you're not in my thoughts. Don't lose faith. The day you return will be the day we both were born, and all of this will be like a nightmare. Don't give up! I love you,” she concluded.
The Nova Festival memorial has received nearly 7,000 visitors daily, and the memorial features pillars bearing photographs of the victims alongside Israeli flags.
