Prosecutors expand investigation into murder of searching mother and her son in Tlajomulco

The Jalisco State Attorney General's Office reported that it has expanded its investigation into the murder of a woman and her son, which occurred this week in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga. According to the authority, three possible lines of investigation are being analyzed, one of which is linked to the victim's work as a member of a group searching for missing persons.
Since the beginning of the investigation, the case has been approached from a gender perspective, in compliance with the protocol for investigating the crime of femicide, in order to determine whether gender-based factors were involved in the woman's murder.

The agency also noted that the case is being analyzed with a differentiated and cross-cutting approach, providing assistance to indirect victims through the Deputy Prosecutor's Office for Human Rights, in coordination with the State Executive Commission for Victim Assistance and the Jalisco DIF System.
The Prosecutor's Office reiterated its commitment to solving the case and assured that it will continue to work seriously, thoroughly, and in compliance with the principles of due diligence, in accordance with national and international human rights frameworks.
