Elvira Rodríguez will replace Noelia Núñez as a member of Congress.

Former Environment Minister Elvira Rodríguez will replace former PP MP Noelia Núñez in Congress, following her resignation for presenting inaccurate information in her academic resume.
Rodríguez, who followed Núñez on the electoral list, has confirmed his return to the lower house, where he previously held a seat in several legislatures, two years after narrowly missing out in the 2023 general elections, in which he ran for the Madrid constituency.
She still doesn't know when she will appear in Congress to present the relevant documentation and collect her seat, but it's likely next week. In any case, she has indicated that she will be sworn in at the first plenary session of the new political year, scheduled for September 9-11.
Elvira Rodríguez Herrer, born in Madrid on May 15, 1949, is married and the mother of four children. She holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid, with an outstanding grade.
Throughout her career, she has held senior positions in public administration, including Minister of the Environment (2003-2004), Secretary of State for Budgets and Expenditure at the Ministry of Finance (2000-2003), and Minister of Transport for the Community of Madrid (2006-2007).
In parliament, as a member of the People's Party (PP), she served as president of the Madrid Assembly (2007-2011) and senator, as well as a member of Congress for three terms. She has also served as president of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and the public company Tragsa.
