Google Sells $2.4 Billion for Rights to AI Startup Windsurf

Google has reached a 2.4 million dollar agreement billions of dollars to secure the best talent and AI startup licensing rights Windsurfing. Bloomberg reports this, explaining that the operation which follows the failure of a potential similar agreement acquisition by rival, OpenAI. Google is hiring Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan and co-founder Douglas Chen, along with a small group of collaborators, to work at his intelligence unit DeepMind artificial intelligence. The company declined to comment on the financial terms, which he said do not include the acquisition of a stake in Windsurf. The start-up had previously agreed to be acquired by OpenAI for 3 billion dollars, but the deal fell through - according to stated by sources familiar with the matter - also because tensions with Microsoft, which is an important part of OpenAi investor. Windsurf did not want Microsoft to have access to its intellectual property, a condition for which it is not they managed to reach an agreement.
