Who is Alessandro Tomasi, the center-right candidate for the Tuscan regional elections?

Florence, August 25, 2025 – On August 15, Alessandro Tomasi , the center-right candidate in the Tuscan regional elections , posted a photo on social media. He's in the mountains, where he used to spend summers as a boy; now he takes his children there. In the photo, he's wearing a shirt, sitting at a table reading some documents. "I'm taking this opportunity," he writes, "to continue studying documents, plans, and budgets because for me, politics and administrative activity mean commitment, thoroughness, and seriousness." It's his mantra, his "Revolution of Action." "I prefer presence to absenteeism," he continues, "to easy things, to difficult challenges! I prefer projects, ideas, and the revolution of action to numerical calculations!" Here he is again.

His name is linked to Pistoia , where he was born on September 18, 1979, where he was elected mayor on July 25, 2017 (and confirmed in 2022), and where his favorite team, Pistoiese , plays. Married since 2010 and the father of two boys, Tomasi graduated in Political Science from the "Cesare Alfieri" faculty of Florence.
Tomasi has always lived from his work as a craftsman , but since he was a boy he has dedicated time and energy to civil and political commitment for the city of Pistoia: first as a school representative at the Iti Fedi (Industrial Technical Institute) and as a member of the Provincial Student Council, then as provincial president of the National Alliance Youth Movement and regional coordinator.

Elected to the City Council in 2007, he founded the Pistoia Domani council group in 2014. In his work as a councilor, he focused on urban planning , budgeting , the environment , culture , and oversight of participating companies .
He is a great fan of American literature, loves rock and singer-songwriter music from the 1970s and 1980s, and collects comic books.
On July 25, 2017, he was elected mayor of Pistoia . On June 12, 2022, supported by the Ale Tomasi Sindaco, Fratelli d'Italia, Centristi Forza Italia, Lega, and Amo Pistoia lists, he was confirmed as mayor by the citizens of Pistoia in the first round with more than 50% of the vote.

On October 7, 2024, he was appointed regional coordinator for the Tuscany Region by the President of the Brothers of Italy party, Giorgia Meloni. Finally, on August 25, 2025, the official confirmation arrived: Alessandro Tomasi is the center-right candidate for the 2025 regional elections in Tuscany. He is challenging the outgoing governor, Eugenio Giani .
