The Farnesina appoints Ambassador Beltrame to Moscow: he is considered close to the League.

ROME – " In Moscow, we have appointed Ambassador Stefano Beltrame , who was ambassador to Vienna and is currently diplomatic advisor to Minister Giorgetti." Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced this during a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting that approved the reform of the Farnesina.
A former diplomatic advisor to Matteo Salvini , whom he followed during Giuseppe Conte's yellow-green government, he has always been considered among the League's most popular diplomats.
Tajani then announced that “the current Italian ambassador to Moscow, Cecilia Piccioni , will become the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.” Piccioni took up the post of Italian ambassador to Russia on July 15, 2024, taking over from Giorgio Starace .
