Fascina case in the Commission, FI loses a member. The group: Marta should leave; she's always absent.

The case
The Forza Italia party now has five MPs in the Chamber of Deputies' Defense Committee: too many. The issue of Silvio Berlusconi's ex-partner ends up on Tajani's desk.
The matter would be simple. A matter of mathematics, therefore almost trivial. With Nino Minardo 's arrival in Forza Italia, the Chamber's Defense Committee now has five members from the blue party . Too many. One of them must leave and go elsewhere, the general secretariat of the Chamber of Deputies announced – informally – before the summer recess. And besides, we already know where: in the Social Affairs Committee, where Forza Italia has only three members.
Simple, right? But the matter is bound to get heated in the hands of Antonio Tajani, because she, Marta Fascina, is among the Magnificent Five. Silvio Berlusconi's latest companion and "almost wife," she is the " Donnafugata" of the Defense Committee and Parliament. In nearly three years of her term, she has consistently avoided any contact with this body—as well as with the Chamber—of which she is also formally secretary, preferring to take refuge in Arcore.
Montecitorio records show that the Forza Italia MP has so far collected a 94 percent absence rate. A record.
When Parliament and its committees resume work in September, a choice will have to be made: who will step down?
In addition to Marta Fascina, the blue package includes the president Nino Minardo (irreplaceable by his role), Giorgio Mulè , vice president of the Chamber and former undersecretary of defense in the Draghi government (therefore a point of reference for experience and contacts), the group leader Roberto Bagnasco (very active and among the most present) and Gloria Saccani Jotti (respected by everyone, even the opposition, for the work carried out so far).
Thus we return to Fascina , always absent, though justified by the grief of her irreparable loss. In fact, no one has ever seen her on the committee. Except when last June she appeared—like a comet—to be confirmed as secretary, despite the doubts of the leaders of the party founded by her former partner. "Silvio chose this post for me, and I will never give it up," was the deputy's response. She was ultimately re-elected, but she also missed out on a couple of votes in the secrecy of the ballot box.
Now the problem arises again, but no one in the Forza Italia group is willing to make the grand gesture. While awaiting the Putin-Zelensky meeting, Tajani is seeking security guarantees for his party to prevent it from imploding.
