How to make money recycling bottles at Conad in Ozzano

Ozzano dell'Emilia (Bologna), May 12, 2025 — A new eco-compactor for an increasingly green supermarket . The one that was installed at the Conad in via Emilia 42 in Ozzano dell'Emilia by Conad member 'Nord Ovest Sanzio Zerbinati', in collaboration with Coripet. The machine allows you to support the environment and, at the same time, obtain discount coupons to use in Conad stores. Its inauguration was held on April 30 at the same Conad supermarket in the presence of Sanzio members, Guglielmo and Veronica Zerbinati and Annalisa Falchieri, and the mayor Luca Lelli.

Collection of bottles and shopping vouchers

The eco-compactor, specifically, allows the collection of PET bottles for food use and recycling through a virtuous “ bottle to bottle ” chain. The bottles delivered to the eco-compactor are transformed into shopping vouchers : each bottle is worth one point, so for every 200 bottles delivered the customer receives a three euro voucher that can be spent for a minimum spend of 15. In order to be recycled correctly, the bottles must be empty, not crushed, with an intact label and legible bar code, and must have contained only food liquids. The recycled PET (rPET) will then be used to produce new bottles.

The initiative — which is part of the sustainability strategy of the Conad brand 'Sosteniamo il futuro'' — demonstrates the attention to the territory, by Conad members, towards the environment, through the introduction of increasingly sustainable management models and the promotion of initiatives that encourage the adoption of responsible consumer behavior with the aim of favoring the growth and well-being of the communities and territories in which the Cooperative operates. "We are pleased to announce the installation of these eco-compactors to support a concrete action in favor of the environment, promoting the adoption of responsible behavior — commented Sanzio Zerbinati, Conad Nord Ovest member of Ozzano —. A further confirmation of our commitment to a project that is part of the Conad Sosteniamo il Futuro sustainability strategy, based on three different dimensions: environmental, economic and social".

The territories in which it operates with 371 entrepreneurial members and over 18 thousand employees are Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Liguria, Province of Mantua, Emilia (provinces of Modena, Bologna and Ferrara), Tuscany, Lazio (provinces of Rome, Viterbo) and Sardinia.
