Alstom to hire 100 people by March 2026

Sesto San Giovanni, September 17, 2025 – Alstom is celebrating its birthday and announcing a new hiring campaign. All in round numbers. The plan was unveiled on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the historic Sesto San Giovanni plant (founded in 1955 as Elettromeccanica Parizzi), celebrated with an event organized at the company.
The campaign100 new positions will be opened by March 2026, confirming the continuation of the ongoing €25 million investment in the Services business in Italy. "By celebrating the 70th anniversary of our Sesto San Giovanni site, we pay tribute to an industrial history of innovation, expertise, and passion for mobility," said Michele Viale, General Manager of Alstom in Italy.

"This site represents the perfect balance between manufacturing tradition and technological transformation , contributing to the development of a resilient and sustainable railway industry, serving the country and Europe."
Alstom's investments, the statement reads, aim to strengthen its industrial operations, expand its production capacity and regional presence, and accelerate the digital transformation of its processes through continuous research and innovation.
The eventRepresentatives of the Lombardy Region attended the event held today at the Alstom plant. Claudia Maria Terzi, Councilor for Infrastructure, and Franco Lucente, Councilor for Transport, were also present. The celebration was followed by the inauguration of the exhibition "70 Years of Traction to the Future. From Mechanical Innovation to Intelligent Mobility," which marks the beginning of a permanent museum project to showcase the railway heritage and educate new generations.
The exhibition traces the history of the site, founded in 1955 and today a center of excellence in the production and maintenance of railway components for high-speed trains, regional trains, trams, and subways.
The presenceAlstom has a long-standing presence in Lombardy with two factories and a fleet of over 100 trains that serve over 5 million passengers a day in regional public transport.

The Lombardy Region and Alstom share a path that strives for excellence through innovative, modern, and sustainable projects. These values are reflected in increasingly efficient and cutting-edge mobility, thanks to the production of Donizetti regional trains , 61 of which are already in service throughout Lombardy, and the Coradia hydrogen-powered trains for the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line, for a total investment of over €560 million.
The facility employs over 300 people and annually produces more than 1,500 subsystems —including traction converters and control desks— and over 12,000 repairs and spare parts. Its technological facilities include a 3D polymer printing laboratory for the production of railway components and a control room dedicated to monitoring fleets in commercial operation.
