A day at the beach in the Marche region for 15 euros

Relax on the beach for 15 euros in the Marche region, the low-cost seaside (generic photo)
Ancona, August 14, 2025 - The cost of living is rising, but you can still enjoy the beach for very little. This is possible in a summer of ups and downs, where, according to the government and various associations, the high cost of living is putting pressure on Italians' pockets and affecting their choices. Just two days ago, ISTAT certified a rise in inflation to 1.7% (with the cost of shopping carts rising 3.2%) and an impact on vacation costs, from flights (+7.4%) to trains (+0.2%). And according to Federalberghi, foreigners are arriving far more than Italians (67.7 million, +2.3%), while Italians, with 53.2 million overnight stays, recorded a decrease compared to last year (-0.8%). Many are focusing on new habits, such as spreading vacations across multiple periods of the year and saying goodbye to August-only holidays, the month that is suffering the most this year.

For as little as €15 , you can enjoy a day at the beach without spending a fortune . This is especially true for locals who want a bit of relaxation between work days. We've done just that over the past few days, packing a backpack, some prosciutto and mozzarella sandwiches, and choosing a public beach at random to enjoy a bit of relaxation. Specifically, the one in Cupra Marittima , on the southern stretch, heading toward Grottammare.
And, we can assure you, there's everything you need to relax. But any public beach is a great place to spend a low-cost day . All you need is a lounge chair, a towel, a hat, sunscreen, food, and water to appreciate nature and recharge during a fast-paced, hectic summer.
For 15 euros , you can buy a pack of sandwich bread or small rolls , 100 grams of sliced prosciutto, and a mozzarella , preparing a humble yet filling lunch and enjoying the day. And if you're still hungry, you can opt for a snack at one of the nearby chalets, offering everything from a bar to appetizers. The rest of the day is completely free : swimming, strolling along the shore, reading in the shade, and chatting with your neighbors, in an atmosphere reminiscent of summers "of the past," when families gathered with little but returned home full of memories. In an age when holidays are getting shorter, families are breaking up, and prices seem to be soaring, this low-cost choice is almost a small rebellion. It's proof that the seaside isn't just for those who can afford it, but remains a space open to all, where beauty is still democratic and the true luxury is time.
