Positano Teatro Festival – Annibale Ruccello Award: Presentation in Naples on Tuesday 22nd

The press conference presenting the 22nd edition of the Positano Teatro Festival – Annibale Ruccello Award, directed by Antonella Morea (July 26, 27, and 28), will take place on Tuesday, July 22, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ascione Museum on Via San Carlo (Angiporto Galleria) in Naples. The event will be attended by the Mayor of Positano, Giuseppe Guida, the Councilor for Tourism, Giuseppe Vespoli, the artistic director, Antonella Morea, the presenter and actress, Martina Carpi, and the moderator, Gianmarco Cesario. The award winners, directors, authors, actors, and singers are expected to attend.
Three evenings for four awards in the Piazza dei Racconti, with the Annibale Ruccello Award presented to a national theater performer, the Gerardo D'Andrea Award presented to young authors and stage talents, and the Pistrice – Città di Positano Award presented to a performer who has successfully brought traditional folk songs to life, following the path pioneered by Maestro De Simone. The 22nd edition of the Positano Teatro Festival Annibale Ruccello Award, directed by Antonella Morea and conceived by Gerardo D'Andrea, pays tribute to actor and director Luca De Filippo, ten years after his untimely death, with a show dedicated to him, created by friends with whom he shared the stage. The intertwining of classical music and theater creates a harmonious blend for the tribute to maestro Roberto De Simone, one of the most internationally recognized composers, musicologists, and conductors. It also honors Fred Buscaglione, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and actor, a cult figure of the 1950s and 1960s who brought jazz to a wider audience. These three tributes were strongly desired and shared by artistic director Antonella Morea and the Municipality of Positano, led by Mayor Giuseppe Guida, to whom they dedicated the 2025 edition.
The Positano Teatro Festival returns to its schedule from July 26 to 28, 2025, with three days of performances for this 22nd edition—but exactly 25 years of its history, 22 years of the Annibale Ruccello Award, 13 years of the Pistrice – Città Di Positano Award, and 4 years of the Gerardo D'Andrea Award. The award, which recognizes plays written and directed by young authors as well as talented theatergoers, was established by artistic director Antonella Morea and the Municipality of Positano, and is inspired by the memory of Gerardo D'Andrea, who, as early as 2011, began dedicating a special evening to the "Theatre of the Future."
