Leo XIV's brother: "When we were little I told him: one day you will be Pope"

Louis Martín Prevost interviewed by US TV Abc

"I was lying in bed. My wife called me and said, 'White smoke! White smoke! ' So I turned on the TV and watched. And almost an hour passed. And when the cardinal came out, and we were all waiting, and he said 'Roberto,' I understood immediately." This is the story of Louis Martín Prevost , older brother of Pope Leo XIV, at the announcement of the new Pope .

"If I hadn't been in bed, if I had been standing, I could have collapsed, because it was totally unexpected," Prevost added. "When we were little, I was always making a racket with my two younger brothers, but he was always the saintly one. And we would tease him. ' You're going to be pope someday. You're too saintly.' When he entered the seminary, it was like, oh wow, OK. And then a couple of years ago, when the pope made him a cardinal, it was like, this could happen," he said.
