On 27 August the final evening dedicated to Tarantella and Canti del Sud Italia. On this occasion, the company that has received the most appreciation will also be revealed.
The theatre festival is also a tribute to a character, Ennio Bevilacqua , author and promoter of many of the city's theatre performances. "Dialect theatre boasts a tradition that goes back centuries," said Mayor Giuliana Gimapaoli. "After last year's popular edition, with both confirmations and innovations, an enjoyable programme will return." Pino Cipriani, artistic director of the festival, presents the events as follows: "There will be no shortage of dialect that can now be considered a language, classical theatre in the language, theatre for children with a puppet show and the participation of street artists and jugglers 'Allok'." "A festival," added Councillor for Culture Massimo Cesca, "where very popular performances will be proposed, just as Ennio Bevilacqua, one of our fellow citizens who brought many generations to the stage, would have liked." Donato and Agnese Bevilacqua, Ennio's children, then underlined that "this year, the pride for this dedication to our father is combined with the happiness for a joyful last edition. Animating common places, involving citizens and creating spaces of conviviality were part of the spirit that animated our father".
