At the moment the Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office is not excluding any possibility, from accident to suicide, but also external involvement, regarding the discovery of the body of a young girl near the old abandoned Reggiani factory in via Legrenzi, close to the Bergamo ring road.
The body of the 14-year-old of Ukrainian origins was found around 9 pm on Thursday 26 June: 112 received a phone call from the victim's uncle and cousin reporting a serious accident in the abandoned warehouses of the former Reggiani.
An ambulance from the Red Cross of Seriate and two medical cars arrived on the scene, with medical personnel who found the body of the 14-year-old, who lived in Ponteranica with her grandparents, who had been in Italy for several years, and of whom there had been no news since Wednesday .
On Thursday morning she was supposed to take her middle school exam , but the teenager hadn't shown up at school: her uncle and cousin knew that the 14-year-old had been frequenting the ex Reggiani area for some time with a group of friends and for this reason they had headed there to look for her, finding the girl's lifeless body.
The intervention of the paramedics was useless, with the 14-year-old already lifeless. According to the first analyses, death would have occurred after a fall from the roof , as certified by the bruises on the body. However, the dynamics in which the tragic flight occurred are still unclear.
The former Reggiani, an industrial area of 110,000 square meters of abandoned warehouses and sheds, is a daily destination for kids and graffiti artists who find themselves in an area reigning in degradation. In 2024 alone, about forty fires broke out in the area, while in 2023 a 15-year-old, who was climbing a skylight that had been unused for years, fell from a height of nine meters and was seriously injured.
