Mini Cooper JCW Deus Ex Machina, escapes from a circuit

Evocations of a glorious sporting past, these two concepts are the result of a collaboration with the fashion brand.
Don't dream. You won't see these two MINI John Cooper Works models dressed up as racing cars on the street. Presented as part of the Munich Motor Show, which opens its doors next Tuesday, they showcase a collaboration with the fashion brand Deus Ex Machina, which includes a capsule collection of Mini and Deus Ex Machina clothing. Much ado about nothing, according to some. Presented as a world premiere at the Munich Motor Show, these two Minis, with their body-built bodywork, evoke the Mini entered in the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
To be taken as a designer recreation, these two Minis are distinguished by their engines. The yellow one, dubbed "The Steg," is powered by a 258 hp electric motor that equips the John Cooper Works version. The red one, called "The Machina," is powered by the 231 hp 2-liter turbocharged combustion engine of the John Cooper Works version. The two vehicles are further distinguished by the treatment of the wheel arches and their grille. It is closed on the electric version while it is largely open on the gasoline version, for the benefit of cooling. The wheel arches also differ on the two models. On the "The Machina" version, they completely cover the widened wheels. On the electric version, they are covers that cover a large part of the front and rear fenders.
