By Ch. L.
The mayor of Bordeaux will speak on September 10 at La Machine à lire, to pay tribute to Michel Suffran, whom he knew a few years before his death.
Pierre Hurmic will speak on Wednesday, September 10 at the La Machine à lire bookstore to pay tribute to the writer Michel Suffran (1931-2018). Scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., this meeting is planned around his unpublished posthumous novel "La Lisière," which is due for release on September 3 by Éditions Ex Aequo.
Pierre Hurmic will speak as a friend of the writer. "I met him while working on my first novel [Editor's note: "Les Pilleurs de glace," published in 2015]. He was kind enough to give me some valuable advice, and we became friends. Michel Suffran loved and knew Bordeaux very well. He was a true heir to François Mauriac and helped raise awareness of Jean de La Ville de Mirmont, another important name in Bordeaux literature."
