An improvisational performance for the opening of the season at the Agora de Boulazac in Dordogne

A physical and sensory experience, the show "IN/EX" is offered on Friday, September 5, for the opening evening of the Agora season, at the Lamoura circus center, in Boulazac
Attention Omni. An unidentified musical object is announced for Friday, September 5, in Boulazac-Isle-Manoire (Dordogne). Its motley crew is composed of 23 musicians, joined by an actor, a visual artist, three filmmakers, and a slew of academics specializing in history, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, and more.
This troupe, unlike any other, has called itself Le UN, for "nodal unit", and presents itself as "an improvisation society" . It is opening the 2025-2026 season of the Agora (1), with "IN/EX", a sensory and artistic performance.
“A sensitive and lived world”"IN/EX" is the fusion of two Le UN experiments: "Méandre(s)", on the banks of the Dordogne, and "Rivage(s)", on the Gironde estuary. "The orchestra improvised with these places, taking into account their sonic particularities, their echoes, while projecting themselves with their surroundings, their fauna and flora," describes the double bassist and pivot of the group, David Chiesa. At the same time, we collected several hours of sound and images."
Olivier Chadoin, a professor of sociology at the University of Bordeaux who participated in the project, speaks of a form of "indiscipline, of playing with limits, a desire to make ONE from each other, but above all to play musically together, in connection with the elements of nature."
Friday's concert will reflect this "search for connections with a sensitive and lived world," with a sound installation under the circus tent on the Lamoura plain in Boulazac, where images collected beforehand will also be projected. "The orchestra will replay the sounds as if it were still in the situation," explains David Chiesa.
The public will be invited to wander from one musical island to another, a way of "weaving with the great landscape of the estuarine mass or the river, the sum of the streams, [...] which are so many echoes and exchanges between the production of the sensitive and conceptual invention", feels the Bordeaux sociologist.
(1) Friday, September 5, at 7 p.m. , at Chap'cirque, Lamoura plain in Boulazac. Free entry by reservation at 05 53 35 59 65.
