Football. Stassin returns, Tchokounté at the top, Bastia ambitious... Everything you need to know about the second day of Ligue 2

The second day of Ligue 2 begins this Friday. It's time for Pau to confirm their results, for others to react quickly, and for Bastia and newly promoted Boulogne-sur-Mer to make their mark for the first time this season.

Having scored twice last Saturday against Saint-Étienne (3-3), Laval center forward Malik Tchokounté sits proudly at the top of the Ligue 2 scorers' rankings before the start of Matchday 2. With a well-placed header, the 36-year-old striker allowed the Tangos to open the scoring in front of their home crowd before equalizing from the penalty spot.

This Friday (8 p.m.) in Grenoble, the Frenchman will try to shine again to bring back valuable points from the trip to Isère, with a view to promotion.

For its first match of the season – after the cancellation of the derby against Ajaccio on the first day due to the financial problems of its Corsican rival – SC Bastia will have a lot to do this Friday (8 p.m.) against Pau, leader of Ligue 2.

Eighth last season, Benoît Tavenot 's men are aiming higher for this new season: "Less than 48 points this season, I'll be disappointed. The ambition is to annoy everyone," confides the Bastia coach. This requires a good first result, at home against Pau.

Having been drafted in at the last minute, Boulogne-sur-Mer will return to Ligue 2 this Friday (8 p.m.) in Nancy for the first time since the 2011-2012 season. By taking advantage of Ajaccio's relegation, the Pas-de-Calais club has thus recorded a second consecutive promotion after being promoted to the National League last season.

At the Marcel-Picot stadium , the Boulonnais want to start on the right foot against another promoted team in order to launch a season where USBO "holds nothing back", according to its coach Fabien Dagneaux.

Five days after drawing 2-2 at Amiens, Reims hosts Guingamp this Saturday (2 p.m.) with the ambition of widening the gap on a direct promotion contender. Relegated from Ligue 1 after a nightmarish end to the season, the Champagne team will not have an easy task against Sylvain Ripoll's players.

The Bretons, who were beaten at home by the promoted Le Mans team last Saturday (3-3), hope to show a different side so as not to see some of the big names slip away.

Two years later, the Gaston-Gérard stadium in Dijon will once again host a Ligue 2 match. While DFCO, relegated from the antechamber in 2023, still plays in the National, FC Annecy travels to Côte d'Or to face Dunkerque this Saturday (8 p.m.).

Unable to play in their stadium due to construction work, the Haut-Savoyards will therefore have to travel nearly 300 km to play “at home” . A week after starting their season in Pau (2-0 defeat), “it’s a second away match” estimates Annecy coach, Laurent Guyot .

Lucas Stassin only needed a few months to become the darling of the Chaudron. Arriving at Saint-Étienne a year ago, the 20-year-old Belgian shone last season, scoring 12 goals in Ligue 1. Despite the Greens' relegation and interest from several teams in the striker, Saint-Étienne fans still hope to count on him in Ligue 2.

While waiting for the end of the transfer window, the center forward (operated on this summer) will make his return to the ASSE squad , which will face Rodez this Saturday (8 p.m.). To the great delight of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
