It's almost become a habit, which doesn't take away from the merit. For the eighth time since QSI took over, and the sixteenth in its history, PSG has won the Coupe de France. On Saturday, March 24, the French champions only had to step on the gas for half an hour to squelch any ambition from their Reims opponents.
A quarter of an hour of Marne resistance was immediately extinguished by a double in three minutes from the elusive Bradley Barcola (16th and 19th), all completed before even stoppage time by Achraf Hakimi, another architect of the flamboyant Parisian season (43rd), served by Barcola, who thus joins the legend Ibrahimovic in the list of Parisians who have been involved in three goals in a Coupe de France final.
The second half wasn't all management for the Parisians. Striker Ousmane Dembélé even came close to joining the party, his cross-shot being deflected onto the post by Reims goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf.
Final score 3-0. The Parisians can officially focus on their Champions League final on Saturday, May 31st against Inter Milan. Stade de Reims, meanwhile, has a turning point at least as important to manage: their second leg against FC Metz, who are vying for their place in Ligue 1, on Thursday, May 29th.
