A charitable cause at the heart of a padel competition in Draguignan

In the middle of Roland-Garros, an inter-company padel tournament is being organized on Sunday, June 29 at the Draguignan Tennis Club.
The Rotary Club Doyen and Inner Wheel are spearheading this initiative. Funds raised from this event will go to the Lez'arts association, which supports access to sports for children with autism and intellectual disabilities.
While the professionals exchange their best serves, entertainment will be planned for families who come to watch the tournament.
"Usually, there are few activities for children during matches," explains Michelle Ferran, a member of the Rotary Club. The program includes pony rides, face painting, and two inflatable structures.
The two associations have long wanted to organize a joint sporting event. "We had to find the right event, and this tournament already existed. Our goal was to support this by highlighting a cause that is close to our hearts. Padel is a sport that appeals to more and more people," adds Michelle Ferran.
