Saint-Nazaire: a mega order worth more than three billion euros for the Atlantic shipyards

The naval industry is not experiencing a crisis. Indeed, the Atlantic shipyards located in Saint-Nazaire have recorded a mega-order worth 3.5 billion euros for two ships. This news should delight employees, as 10,000 employees will benefit.
The Saint-Nazaire Atlantic Shipyards have just signed a massive contract. Two 233-meter cruise ships for the MSC World company, each accommodating 9,000 people, have been ordered for 2030. This project will require 20 million hours of work and 3,000 jobs guaranteed for the next four years on each ship. In total, more than 3.5 billion euros have been invested.
After several years of temporary work, Maxime Grand, a welder by trade, sees this opportunity as a chance to make a permanent home here: “ I’m a dad, I need a bit of time with my family. So I needed a normal day job and this is great. I was really lucky, if I can stay I’ll stay, that’s for sure. ”
