Public debt: risk of chaos or simple bump?

Storing cans of food, hiding banknotes under the mattress, or simply taking a deep breath while waiting for it to pass? It's hard to make up your mind given the fifty shades of chaos depicted by François Bayrou and his supporters in the event of the government falling during the confidence vote on September 8. The Prime Minister appeared on TF1's 8 p.m. news on Wednesday evening to add another layer on the need for the Assembly to approve the principle of a €44 billion effort in the 2026 budget, and a return to below 3% of the public deficit by 2029, compared to the 5.4% expected this year.
The left and the National Rally warned on Monday that they would vote against it. "Parties that are enemies of each other," he said.
