Paris-Lyon-Marseille line: Trenitalia doubles its capacity on August 30 and 31

The last weekend of August traditionally marks the end of vacations and the return home. To anticipate the high demand for train tickets, the railway company Trenitalia has announced that it will increase its capacity on high-speed trains connecting Paris and Marseille, passing through Lyon.
Thanks to the "multiple unit" system, which consists of joining two trains to form a single train, the Italian company intends to double the available seats (from 462 to 924 seats per train). This configuration will be applied for the first time on the Paris-Marseille line, after several successes on trains between Paris and Lyon.
Thus, present in France since 2021 and elected leading European railway company in 2024, Trenitalia is gradually establishing itself as a competitor to the SNCF on French territory.
