From Dardilly to the shelves of major retailers, the Erce stationery store has made its mark on the industrial history of western Lyon. Founded in the 1950s, the company employed up to fifty people and exported its famous "Relispir" spiral notebooks far beyond France's borders.
In the early 1950s, the fall into the public domain of a wire binding patent inspired Robert Clauss and Jean Terry. The two entrepreneurs then founded their company to produce spiral-bound school notebooks, dubbed "Relispir." Their modern look quickly won over customers, and the first orders poured in. Prisunic became the first major distributor to market them.
